An original artist-signed ‘music box’ sculpture of a teratoma, a parasitic tumour that grows within its human host, often developing hair, eyes, teeth and genitals. The title plate reads ‘Collection of Prof. W. Jamieson. National Institute of Teratology’. The music box plays ‘If I Only Had a Brain’. Signed on base by the artist: ‘Teratoma, a Disturbed Music Box by John Nakamura’, 9/99 (June 1999). The music box plays but needs cleaning to maintain play.
