Every piece in the Cabinet is one of a kind, and we take care over where it comes from.
How we source
Our collection is assembled from estate sales, auctions, private collections, retired institutional holdings, and dealers we have worked with over many years. Where an item’s history is known, we record and share it — provenance is part of what makes a curiosity worth having.
Natural history & protected species
Taxidermy, bone, and other natural-history material in our collection is acquired from legitimate sources — antique and vintage specimens, captive-bred or naturally deceased animals, and licensed dealers. We do not deal in material taken from endangered wild populations. Items involving protected species may be subject to permit requirements and are not offered for international sale.
Cultural material
We treat ethnographic and culturally significant objects with care. Items are reviewed before sale, and pieces that raise questions of cultural ownership, repatriation, or lawful export are withheld from sale pending proper review. We would rather hold a piece back than offer something that shouldn’t be sold.
