19th century medical dynamometer to measure the muscular strength of the hand. The patient is requested to grasp the device with all their might and squeeze, compressive strength is tested through the compression of the oval, the effort is registered on the graduated scale, the second lancet keeps the position to register the peak reached after released. Measuring muscle strength with isometric dynamometers was also used for many years in strongman championships and carnival exhibitions and challenges.
